Today, all 22 fighters stepped on the scales to make the evening’s contests official. One UFC newcomer missed weight in his debut, while longtime veteran Alistair Overeem (41-14 MMA, 6-3 UFC) pushed his luck with Ohio Athletic Commission – but he’ll still meet UFC heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) in the UFC 203 headliner. Additionally, the MMAjunkie team had a quick chat with UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos (18-4 MMA, 12-3 UFC) before attending a Q&A session with undefeated UFC bantamweight contender Cody Garbrandt (10-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC), who had strong words for current champ Dominick Cruz (22-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC). The day closed down with the UFC 203 ceremonial weigh-ins, where welterweight Phil “ CM Punk ” Brooks (0-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Mickey Gall (2-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) added a little flavor to their highly anticipated matchup, and Cleveland’s own Jessica Eye (11-5 MMA, 1-4 UFC) fired up the crowd with an all-out shove of opponent Bethe Correia (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC).
