MONTREAL – Arnold Allen picked up a marquee win in his last outing but believes he still has a lot of work to do. The featherweight competed in the U.S. for the first time in his career, defeating veteran Gilbert Melendez via unanimous decision at UFC 239 in July, which showed him that he can compete with the best. “I sort of learned that I am at that level and I can stand with these big boys,” Allen told MMA Junkie. “The improvements I made, but I have a lot more to improve on and to get to where I want to get so yeah, it was a good stepping stone for me, though.” Allen (15-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) has only lost once in his MMA career and is off to a 6-0 start in the UFC. However, he hasn’t been as active as he’d like due to injuries, fighting once per year in each the first four years of his UFC tenure.
