Even though he’ll fight Costa (4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at TD Garden in Boston on Oct. 18, Salmon (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) doesn’t expect the fight to change their friendship. Both bantamweights will make their second UFC appearances, and both are in search of their first promotional victory. The pair made their octagon debuts on the same card, UFC 236 in April, where they both lost inside the distance. Their congenial rapport initiated when Costa messaged Salmon through Instagram when Salmon’s originally scheduled UFC debut opponent fell off of a November 2018 card
