After the champ suffered an injury in the recent “Dana White’s Contender Series: Week 1” headliner, CES MMA will soon crown an interim titleholder. On July 11, reigning titleholder Matt Bessette (22-8) headlined the recent UFC Fight Pass event and suffered a knockout loss to Kurt Holobaugh (18-4). He also injured his thumb in the fight and could be out of action for up to six months unless a doctor clears him early.
