Despite that, the sport may not be long for her. Nunes (17-4 MMA, 10-1 UFC), the UFC women’s featherweight and bantamweight champion who is coming off a first-round knockout of Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 in December, said a recent trip back to her native Brazil to visit family has prompted some new thoughts about her future in fighting. According to Nunes, her mother advised her to retire from MMA immediately. She doesn’t appear keen to take that direction right away, but from all indications, it’s not far off.
