It’s been more than six years since Anthony Pettis fought Donald Cerrone , and it appears a rematch is in the works. According to Pettis’ head coach, Duke Roufus, the UFC has offered Pettis (22-9 MMA, 14-9 UFC) a rematch with Cerrone (36-13 MMA, 23-10 UFC). In a since-deleted Instagram post , Roufs said both fighters have “professionally reached out personally to one another & have agreed to fight each other” on a date to be determined. Pettis and Cerrone fought in 2013 in a lightweight fight, with “Showtime” earning a first-round knockout after a brutal body kick to “Cowboy” shut him down. Since then, both fighters have had big career trajectories. After stopping Cerrone, Pettis captured the lightweight title in his next fight by submitting then-champion Benson Henderson at UFC 164.
