Jimmie Rivera wants to make progress in the bantamweight division after picking up a crucial victory for his career at UFC 228. Rivera (22-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) had his 20-fight winning streak snapped with a quick knockout  loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night 131 in June. Rivera made a quick turnaround to fight at UFC 228 and was able to get the better of John Dodson (20-10 MMA, 9-5 UFC) to take a unanimous decision at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Although he had the setback a few months ago, Rivera still very much feels he’s a top contender at 135 pounds
