Justin Gaethje recognizes that his doubters think UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will have his way in the wrestling department when the two fighters square off. However, Gaethje (22-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC), the interim champ, doesn’t foresee that being the case Oct. 24. Nurmagomedov (28-0 MMA, 12-0 UFC) will have to get inside to take Gaethje down – a distance he’s calling a “zone of death.” Gaethje thinks if he can create “car crashes,” he’ll be able to fend off Nurmagomedov’s grappling attack.
