This past Friday, Nick Newell made his return to MMA at LFA 35 with a first-round submission win over Sonny Luque. In his post-fight speech, Newell (14-1) sparked an old conversation by once again calling for his shot to compete inside the UFC cage. Come Monday morning, the debate over the lightweight contender’s caliber already had spread. Newell is a congenital amputee, and emotions and sympathies drove up on each side of the argument.
