VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Todd Duffee returns to the octagon on Saturday at UFC on ESPN+ 16 after more than four years away from the sport. Much of the discussion ahead of this contest hasn’t revolved around his fight with Jeff Hughes (10-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC), though, but instead Duffee’s (9-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) thoughts on the state of MMA media. During a Wednesday interview with MMA Junkie , Duffee opened up about his belief that the state of media in the sport is going in the wrong direction. He doesn’t like where the focus is centered, and on Thursday at UFC on ESPN+ 16 media day he discussed his stance even more at length. When presented with a question about what he would do if he were on the other side of the camera as part of the media, Duffee said he would give more attention to the positives surrounding athletes. “I would build up the fighters,” Duffee told reporters, including MMA Junkie.
