Overeem, in his first fight since that defeat, bounced back in a big way with a third-round knockout of Mark Hunt (12-11-1 MMA, 7-5-1 UFC). The heavyweight bout opened up the main card of UFC 209 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
