LAS VEGAS – Daniel Cormier , Anthony Pettis , Khalil Rountree and Paulo Costa each earned $50,000 fight-night bonuses at Saturday’s UFC 226 event. All four picked up “Performance of the Night” awards; no “Fight of the Night” was given out. UFC officials announced the winners after the card, which MMAjunkie attended. Cormier (21-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) knocked out heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (18-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) in the first round to become just the second fighter to hold two UFC titles simultaneously. Cormier, also the light heavyweight champ, joins Conor McGregor as the only two to accomplish the feat. After the upset win over the man who had the record for most consecutive title defenses in UFC heavyweight history, he challenged former champ and WWE star Brock Lesnar to a fight and WWE-style shenanigans broke out in the octagon.
