In the main event, dual-UFC champ Daniel Cormier (22-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) successfully increased his rare championship profile in the organization, when he defended his heavyweight championship for the first time with a second-round submission victory over Derrick Lewis (21-6 MMA, 12-4 UFC). Cormier’s historic title win wrote a new chapter in the UFC record books, but he wasn’t the only one with a noteworthy achievement at the event.
