NEW YORK – David Branch was in the dumps emotionally for a few days after he lost out on the biggest opportunity of his career at UFC 230. He got past it, though, and is ready to fight Jared Cannonier on Saturday. Branch (22-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) was booked to fight Ronaldo Souza (25-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in a key middleweight bout at UFC 230, but the fight was taken away from him when the organization needed a new fighter for the co-main event and “Jacare” was bumped up to fight ex-champ Chris Weidman (14-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC)
