Filed under: Featured , News , UFC UFC President Dana White won’t budge on his stance that additional weight classes are unnecessary in the UFC to help prevent extreme weight cuts by athletes. Despite documented evidence that the rate of failed weight cuts has gone up in the UFC, particularly since the introduction of early weigh-ins, White doesn’t believe giving fighters more options of which weight to compete at is the solution. A total of 17 fighters have missed weight for UFC fights this year. Five of those weren’t fit enough to make it to the octagon for their bouts, and an issue with some sort of late-withdrawal is seemingly happening at every event.
