The longtime middleweight had some success in his former weight class, which included title reigns with Strikeforce and EliteXC, but at UFC 157, he dropped down to 170 pounds for a date with fellow vet Josh Koscheck. The bout kicked kicked off the pay-per-view main card and ended with a first-round stoppage – one that jumpstarted a run that eventually earned Lawler the UFC belt, as well.
