As often happened in the late 19th century, Thomas Edison got this idea. You might say it was an idea for a movie. It was also an idea to make some money while simultaneously promoting one of Edison’s many inventions, both of which were right in Edison’s wheelhouse. All he needed to make it work were a couple of boxers. But getting the right one at the right price was no easier then than it is now. It all started in 1888
