When Bellator featherweight champ Cris Cyborg teased a future fight, Harrison said quite bluntly, “You can’t beat me.” It’s clear Harrison is one of the best pound-for-pound female fighters in the sport, but given the competition she’s faced thus far, is it fair to think she could hang with the most dominant names in the sport like Cyborg, or her own teammate, Amanda Nunes?

Taylor Guardado entered the 2021 PFL season coming off a loss, but that didn’t stop her from rattling off three straight wins to earn a spot in the finals. This fight week wasn’t exactly smooth sailing for the Xtreme Couture product, though, as she dealt with multiple challenges surrounding the fight. Her original opponent at 2021 PFL Playoffs 2 , Larissa Pacheco missed weight by two pounds , which prompted a late opponent change to Mariana Morais. Couple the challenge of facing a new opponent on short notice with family concerns outside of the cage, Guardado (3-1 MMA, 3-0 PFL) had to fight through a lot this week to earn her shot at the $1 prize that awaits in the finals

2021 PFL Playoffs 2 official results

2021 PFL Playoffs 2 took place Thursday, and MMA Junkie provided live and official results. The event, which featured heavyweight and women’s lightweight playoffs, took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The main card aired on ESPN and streamed on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN+. In the main event, 2019 PFL champion Kayla Harrison took on Genah Fabian in a women’s lightweight semifinal. The other women’s semifinal pitted Taylor Guardado against Mariana Morais , who is filled in for top-seeded Larissa Pacheco after she missed weight by two pounds . The heavyweight semifinals also took place on the main card, as Bruno Cappelozza took on Jamelle Jones and Ante Delija faced Denis Goltsov.
