Middleweight contender Reinier de Ridder has an opportunity in the UFC Vancouver main event against Brendan Allen to likely earn a title shot against champion Khamzat Chimaev , instead he couldn’t answer the bell to start the final round. De Ridder quit on the stool and his corner threw in the towel. His coach, Harun Ozkan released a statement on Sunday explaining why the decision was made the stop the fight. “Friends, fans, and supporters, I normally don’t share personal things on here, but I feel I owe a little explanation to everyone who’s been behind us.
