Chidi Njokuani (17-4 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) dominated Melvin Guillard (32-17-2 MMA, 0-3 BMMA) in a bizarre 180-pound catchweight fight. Njokuani’s unanimous decision win – he picked up a trio of 10-8 rounds from one judge for a 30-24 and also got a 30-25 and 30-26 – dropped Guillard to 0-4 with Bellator in what may have been his last shot with the promotion. Bellator 171 took place at Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kan. The main card aired on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie

Those numbers made Bellator 170 the third most watched show in the promotion’s history. The question now becomes how many of those viewers were convinced to stick with the promotion for Friday’s Bellator 171? Bellator MMA’s final regular Friday event of the season is set and will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight. Champion Emanuel Newton (24-7 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) will defend his title against Linton Vassell (14-3 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) in the main event of Bellator 130. Promotion officials today announced the headliner and the rest of the card. Titan FC 28 card set with Raphael Davis-Jason Brilz in new main event

Titan Fighting Championship had to do some shuffling for its event later this month, but now has things back intact. After Vinny Magalhaes had to pull out with a bad staph infection, Raphael Davis (13-2) has stepped up to meet Jason Brilz (21-5-1) in the main event of Titan FC 28. Although a precise bout order for the rest of the show has yet to be determined, the card is complete with 11 fights. Another shuffle was made as D.J. Linderman (15-7) was moved to Titan FC 29 to take on the newly signed Walt Harris (5-3). That left Dave Herman (21-6) without an opponent, and UFC vet Kalib Starne s (16-8-1) was brought in for the matchup.
