“The Ultimate Fighter 31: Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler” returned Tuesday for Episode 7 as two fighters head to be examined by the UFC’s chief physician before a lightweight fight ends quickly. On Episode 7, the matchup between seasoned veteran Jason Knight and up-and-comer Landon Quinones , as Team McGregor seeks its first win over the season after six straight losses. The season runs from May 30 to Aug. 15 with the live finale expected for later this year. The promotion also intends for coaches Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler to square off in the months that follow the conclusion of the season.

“The Ultimate Fighter 31” is underway with coaches Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler attracting more eyeballs back on the series. This season, which features eight lightweights and eight bantamweights, debuted Tuesday on ESPN. McGregor’s team features eight fighters who have not competed in the UFC against Chandler’s team of eight UFC alumni. Among those UFC alumni is Kurt Holobaugh , the lone fighter who had two previous stints with the promotion. Holobaugh went 0-4 over those stretches, but history shows a tough strength of schedule: Steven Siler, Raoni Barcelos, Shane Burgos, and Thiago Moises

The event, which aired on AXS TV from Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa in Oklahoma, saw the crowning of a new light heavyweight champion as Leonardo Leite (5-0) dethroned Myron Dennis (10-4) with a fourth-round rear-naked choke. It was one of seven $1,000 bonus checks that Legacy FC and sponsor RES Nation dished out to winning main-card fighters who earned stoppage victories. In a bit of a shocker, Myron Dennis became Legacy Fighting Championship’s new light heavyweight titleholder, upsetting UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Paul Buentello . Dennis took a split decision from “The Headhunter” in a close fight at Legacy FC 29. He took a pair of 49-46 scores to a 48-47 for Buentello, though the early buzz was that many saw the fight the other way. Legacy FC 29 took place at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Okla.
