Chris Leben The hours and days that followed Chris Leben ’s TKO victory over Aaron Simpson in Las Vegas in June 2010 were pretty typical, the way he remembers it. First, he celebrated the way he usually did after a win, which included “the one big party night in Vegas,” as Leben told MMAjunkie. “Then I went home, me and my wife ordered a large pizza, ate the whole thing, and then (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva was calling me in the morning,” Leben (22-12 MMA, 12-10 UFC) said. What Silva asked him to do was something that no fighter in the modern era of the UFC had done – fight two UFC bouts in two weeks. It’s the same feat that Donald Cerrone (25-6 MMA, 13-3 UFC) will attempt to repeat on Sunday, when he faces former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson (21-4 MMA 9-2 UFC) in UFC Fight Night 59’s FOX Sports 1-televised co-headliner just 15 days after his unanimous-decision victory over Myles Jury at UFC 182 on Jan. 3.

UFC Fight Night 28 Adds Two New Bouts: Robertson vs. Zeferino and Trinaldo vs. Hallmann

Two more bouts have been added to the nearly complete UFC fight Night 28 (formerly UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3) fight card. Welterweights Kenny Robertson will face Joao Zeferino while lightweight Francisco Trinaldo takes on UFC newcomer Piotr Hallmann on the Sept. 4 event. Robertson (12-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) lost his first two UFC bouts to Mike Pierce and Aaron Simpson before logging his lone UFC victory against Brock Jardine at UFC 157 . He is coming off a loss in his last outing to Sean Pierson and is in desperate need of a win. Zeferino (13-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will try to get his first UFC win when he faces Robertson. He made his promotional debut on May 18, losing a unanimous decision to Rafael Natal. Trinaldo (13-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is on a two-fight winning streak with victories over C.J.

Debuting in the company in 2006, he has gone on to have 21 fights inside the Octagon. In 2010, the Oregonian defeated Aaron Simpson and perennial top-ten fighter Yohihiro Akiyama in the span of just 14 days He knocked out Simpson at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale on June 19, earning the Knockout of the Night honors, and then dispatched of Akiyama on July 3 at UFC 116 on July 3, earning the Fight of the Night award.
