Abdel Medjedoub discusses tonight’s ‘TUF 23′ bout, pressure to continue Team Claudia’s undefeated season

Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos MONTREAL – Abdel Medjedoub ’s run on Season 23 of “The Ultimate Fighter” has been among the most tumultuous of any competitor in the history of the reality series. Medjedoub (3-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), a Team Claudia light heavyweight, became the first in the show’s history to leave the set to return home to see family after his wife called the producers of the show and demanded to speak with him about a personal issue. Although he wouldn’t reveal the reasoning behind the problems with his wife, other than he made a regrettable mistake, UFC President Dana White granted Medjedoub a rare three-day leave to resolve the problems before coming back. Once he re-entered the competition it was Medjedoub’s turn to fight.

White then discusses Team Claudia’s Abdel Medjedoub , who is dealing with personal issues after his wife called the producers in a panic on the last episode asking for him to leave the show due to a certain action the fighter is unwilling to reveal. Medjedoub is pulled from practice to join White in his office and they discuss the situation.

Coaching the teams will be UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and No. 1 contender Claudia Gadelha, who have a bitter rivalry after their UFC on FOX 13 showdown in December 2014. Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha Season 23 “The Ultimate Fighter,” the UFC’s long-running reality competition, debuts in two weeks on FOX Sports 1, and today the cast was revealed. The season will feature women’s strawweight fighters and men’s light heavyweight fighters competing for coaches Joanna Jedrzejczyk , the UFC’s women’s 115-pound champion, and Claudia Gadelha , who challenges for her title in a rematch in the TUF 23 Finale main event on July 8 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 12-episode “TUF 23” season debuts April 20 on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET
