WSOF 30 fills out preliminary card in Las Vegas, including Abubakar Nurmagomedov

Abubakar Nurmagomedov The preliminary card for next month’s WSOF 30 event today took shape with the addition of five fights, and at least one more still to come. Topping the prelims is a welterweight bout between Abubakar Nurmagomedov (11-1-1), the adopted brother of UFC lightweight standout Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Matthew Frincu (7-1). WSOF officials today announced the preliminary card lineup. WSOF 30 takes place April 2 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

WSOF 12 adds four preliminary card bouts, including Lucas Montoya vs. Jimmy Spicuzza

The lineup for WSOF’s return to Las Vegas next week appears to be in place with the addition of four bouts. Lucas Montoya (6-3) will meet Jimmy Spicuzza (5-1) in a lightweight matchup; Danny Davis Jr. (9-8) takes on Jorge Lopez (11-4) at welterweight; Adam Acquaviva (1-1) and Cody Maltais (0-0) meet at bantamweight; and at featherweight, Soslan Abanokov (4-1) is paired up with Bryson Gutches (2-0). MMAjunkie confirmed the four new fights with WSOF officials following an initial report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal . Featuring a lightweight matchup between top contenders Lewis Gonzalez and Luis Palomino, WSOF 12 takes place Aug. 9 at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

WSOF 10 medical suspensions: Karakhanyan among six issued terms

Now-former WSOF featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan is among six fighters given medical suspensions following WSOF 10. The Nevada State Athletic Commission today released to MMAjunkie the medical suspensions following the event, which took place June 21 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The event’s main card aired on NBC Sports Network following prelims on MMAjunkie. In the co-main event, Karakhanyan suffered a rib injury and couldn’t answer the bell for the third round, giving the victory, and relinquishing his title, to new champion Rick Glenn.

MMAjunkie today obtained the list of disclosed paydays from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. WSOF 10 took place this past Saturday, June 21, at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card, which included three title fights, aired on NBC Sports Network. The total disclosed payroll for the event was $231,000

LAS VEGAS – In a battle of two UFC veterans, David Branch (14-3) submitted Jesse Taylor (27-10) in the opening round and claimed WSOF’s inaugural middleweight title. The bout served as the headlining matchup of Saturday’s “WSOF 10: Branch vs. Taylor” event, which took place at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and aired live on NBC Sports Network. It was Taylor who looked to finish the fight early, dropping to his back and looking to squeeze a guillotine. But Branch kept his arm in the hold and prevented his opponent from locking up the hold
