Asia’s leading mixed martial arts organization was back in action Friday as “ ONE Championship 128: Unbreakable III ” delivered a card packed with finishes at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Five of the six bouts on the card finished inside the distance, with Ukrainian debutant Alyona Rassohyna stunning former ONE atomweight kickboxing and muay Thai champion Stamp Fairtex in the main event with a last-gasp submission to hand the Thai starlet the first defeat of her MMA career. The night’s co-main event was the only bout to reach the scorecards, as Brazil’s Fabricio Andrade moved one step closer to a shot at the ONE bantamweight title with a unanimous decision victory over No.2-ranked former Shooto champion Shoko Sato . Also on the card, Japanese contender Ryuto Sawada pushed his title credentials in ONE’s strawweight division with a first-round submission finish of Filipino striker Robin Catalan , while undefeated prospect Tial Thang continued his rise up the bantamweight ranks with a second-round TKO of Paul Lumihi . There were also victories for South Korean heavyweight Ji Won Kang , who fought back from a difficult start to finish Mehdi Barghi via first-round TKO, and Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba , who scored a resounding first-round knockout of India’s Rahul Raju in their lightweight matchup

Stamp Fairtex looked to be on her way to a hard-fought decision win against Ukrainian debutant Alyona Rassohyna , but a late guillotine choke forced the Thai starlet to tap with just eight seconds remaining as she suffered her first defeat in MMA. Former ONE atomweight kickboxing and muay Thai champion Fairtex (5-1) faced submission specialist Rassohyna (13-4) in the main event of “ ONE Championship 128: Unbreakable III ” at Singapore Indoor Stadium, and over the course of their three-round battle showed her evolution as an MMA fighter as she happily scrambled back and forth on the mats with her more seasoned opponent. Rassohyna’s tactic was clear from the very start, and in Round 1 the Ukrainian was successful in getting the fight to the canvas. But once the action hit the mat, Fairtex surprised Rassohyna with her scrambling ability as she repeatedly denied the debutant in her quest to claim her 11th first-round armbar submission finish.

Joshua Pacio defends 125-pound title vs. Alex Silva in ONE Championship 107 main event

The 125-pound title will be on the line when ONE Championship returns to its regular stomping grounds in the Philippines in January. “ONE Championship 107: Fire & Fury” is set for Jan. 31 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the promotion announced Thursday. The card will stream on the B/R Live app. In the headliner, strawweight (125 pounds for ONE) champion Joshua Pacio (18-3) will defend his title in front of his home fans against former champion Alex Silva (9-4).

Ev Ting overcame a significant weight disadvantage and one dissenting judge to score a split-decision win over Kamal Shalorus in today’s “ONE Championship 52: Throne of Tigers” headliner. Ting (13-3), who’s spent most of his time fighting at featherweight before recently moving up to lightweight, decided to compete in the online-streamed pay-per-view main event at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, despite Shalorus (9-5-2) missing weight by eight pounds. It wasn’t easy when Ting stepped in the cage, but he showed grit and determination by trading heavy strikes with Shalorus for all three rounds before edging out the win on the scorecards. Given Shalorus’ decorated grappling background, at least some grappling was expected. Neither fighter seriously dedicated his efforts to takedowns or submissions, though, and opened the door to heated striking exchanges. The back-and-forth striking exchanges were tightly contested.
