Asia’s leading mixed martial arts organization was back in action Friday as “ ONE Championship 127: Unbreakable II ” delivered a feast of finishes at Singapore Indoor Stadium. All six fights – five MMA bouts and one kickboxing match – delivered finishes, with former Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli scoring a second-round TKO in the night’s main event. Italy’s Cerilli finished previously-undefeated Abdulbasir Vagabov with a thumping leg kick, followed by a flurry of punches, to cap off a night that delivered plenty of highlights. The co-main event saw Daichi Takenaka submit Brazilian flyweight Ivanildo Delfino , while South Korea’s Won Il Kwon added another win to his record with a crushing body-shot knockout of China’s Rui Chen

ONE Championship 127: Mauro Cerilli bounces back with TKO victory in Singapore

Former Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli bounced back into the win column in the main event of ONE Championship 127 in Singapore to move one step closer to a heavyweight title rematch with Brandon Vera. Cerilli lost out to Vera via first-round knockout in his first title challenge back at ONE Championship 85 in November 2018. He bounced back with a victory over Alain Ngalani, but fell to another defeat as he was outpointed by Arjan Bhullar at “ONE Championship: Century – Part 2” in October 2019. But, after taking more than a year away from the cage, “The Hammer” returned in fine form to snap Abdulbasir Vagabov ’s 10-fight winning streak and push himself back into the heavyweight title conversation. Vagabov pushed the pace from the opening bell as he chased the backpedaling Cerilli around the cage, with the Italian throwing the occasional one-two combination to give the Russian contender a moment’s pause. Vagabov continued his forward pressure, but Cerilli ensured that the Russian’s winging punches connected with nothing but air as he kept out of punching range, then connected with occasional counter-strikes of his own.

Promotion officials recently announced that the massive Senegalese wrestler will face Cameroonian heavyweight Alain Ngalani (4-5) at “ONE Championship 127: Unbreakable II,” which streams on B/R Live via tape delay on Jan. 29 from Singapore Indoor Stadium. Kane made his pro debut in December 2019 for ARES FC as a complete unknown on the global scene but made an immediate impact with his sheer show of power and wrestling acumen. Vitor Belfort says he’s facing heavyweight Alain Ngalani in his ONE Championship debut

Vitor Belfort has an opponent for his ONE Championship debut. Belfort (26-14) will face Alain Ngalani (4-5), he revealed in a recent interview with “Asian MMA.” The date, location and weight in which the fight will be contested at, were not mentioned by Belfort in the interview, but Ngalani fights at heavyweight. Belfort hung up his gloves following a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida in 2018, but later that year announced he was planning on returning to competition. He signed with ONE a little more than a year ago, and it appears he’s edging closer to his promotional debut.

ONE Championship 70 results: Bibiano Fernandes stops Martin Nguyen from history with 7th title defense

Bibiano Fernandes continued to be the most successful titleholder in ONE Championship history when he defended his belt yet again in today’s ONE Championship 70 headliner. Fernandes (22-3) recorded his seventh consecutive bantamweight title defense when he walked away with a split decision against featherweight and lightweight champ Martin Nguyen (10-2) in the headlining bout at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Nguyen came into the fight looking to make MMA history as the first simultaneous three-division champion in a major organization. Fernandes had other plans, though, and extended his winning streak to 14 fights dating back to December 2010.

The lineup is set for ONE Championship’s return to Thailand later this month, where Martin Nguyen will try to make history. Nguyen (10-1), ONE Championship’s featherweight and lightweight championship, will go after a third concurrent title when he meets bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes (21-3) in the main event. Officials also have announced the rest of the card for “ONE Championship 68: Iron Will,” takes place March 24 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It streams as an online pay-per-view in North America following prelims on Facebook. In the co-main event, Richard Corminal (4-3) takes on Garry Tonon (0-0) in a lightweight bout.
