The second big event of ONE Championship’s 2020 calendar, “Fire & Fury” sees the Asian promotion return to Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena with a card featuring eight MMA bouts, with six of the eight matchups featuring Filipino athletes. Headlining the card is a battle for the ONE strawweight title, as local hero and reigning champion Joshua Pacio (18-3) puts his title on the line against Brazil’s former champion Alex Silva (9-4), while Filipino fan-favorite and former two-time lightweight champion Eduard Folayang (22-8) will look to move one step closer to a shot at his old title when he faces Dutch contender Pieter Buist (16-4) in the night’s co-main event. Two former victims of Demetrious Johnson are set for action in separate matchups as Danny Kingad (13-2) and Tatsumitsu Wada (22-11-2) take on Xie Wei (5-2) and Ivanildo Delfino (8-0), respectively.

The 125-pound title will be on the line when ONE Championship returns to its regular stomping grounds in the Philippines in January. “ONE Championship 107: Fire & Fury” is set for Jan. 31 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the promotion announced Thursday. The card will stream on the B/R Live app. In the headliner, strawweight (125 pounds for ONE) champion Joshua Pacio (18-3) will defend his title in front of his home fans against former champion Alex Silva (9-4).

ONE Championship 104 results: Amir Khan survives Ev Ting rally, Colbey Northcutt gets first win

Amir Khan did damage early against Ev Ting , but had to survive Ting’s third-round rally to escape with a split decision win in the ONE Championship 104 MMA main event. Ting (17-7) was able to utilize many of his weapons in the first round, but Khan’s (12-6) striking was on point. In particular, when Ting and Khan clinched, Khan was able to land a hard elbow on the break that damaged Ting’s nose.

At just 20 years old, Christian Lee (12-3) is a world champion after scoring a TKO stoppage over MMA legend Shinya Aoki (43-9). The contest served as the main event of Friday’s “ONE Championship 96: Enter the Dragon” event, which took place at Singapore Indoor Stadium. At the start of the contest, Aoki wasted no time in wrapping the body and looking to bring the action to the canvas. An initial effort saw Lee briefly grab the ropes to stay upright, but a second effort did secure the takedown, with Aoki taking top position. Lee wisely scrambled underneath, staying safe and working back to his feet, but Aoki refused to give any space at all. As a frustrated Lee tried to work free, the action went back to the floor, with Aoki in mount.
