Eighteen fighters are no longer on the Bellator roster. Among those who have parted ways includes former featherweight champion Daniel Straus, former light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary, boxer-turned-MMA-fighter Heather Hardy, and former UFC fighter Bec Rawlings. The list also includes two fighters who never got to compete after signing with the promotion because of the COVID-19 pandemic

Bellator officials continue to fill out the promotion’s summer lineup, and June’s Bellator 260 has received a pair of new contests. MMA Junkie today learned from Bellator officials that featherweights Lucas Brennan vs. Matt Skibicki and women’s featherweights Amanda Bell vs. Marina Mokhnatkina have been added to the card, which takes place June 11 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

The first night of Bellator’s back-to-back events later this month has a new women’s featherweight bout on the bill. Amanda Bell (7-6 MMA, 3-2 BMMA) will take on Leslie Smith (11-8-1 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) at Bellator 245. MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with a Bellator official following an initial report from Sherdog.com . Bellator 245 takes place Sept. 11 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., where Bellator has been holding every-other-week events the past several weeks during the COVID-19 era.

Amanda Bell OK if Bellator title shot takes a little longer

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Generally speaking, title shots can come a lot quicker in the women’s divisions, and in Bellator that absolutely can be the case. So when Amanda Bell was heading into her women’s featherweight matchup against Amber Leibrock at Bellator 215 this past week, she shouldn’t have been surprised that pre-fight conversations brought up the potential for a title fight for the winner. Julia Budd (12-2 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) won the inaugural title in March 2017 and has defended it twice, most recently at Bellator 202 last July with a third-round TKO of Talita Nogueira. But she’s not yet booked for her next defense, and Bellator’s 145-pound women’s division is thin enough that the Bell-Leibrock winner was going to be right in line. So here now is Bell (6-5 MMA, 2-1 BMMA), fresh off a first-round TKO of Leibrock (3-3 MMA, 1-2 BMMA) at Bellator 215 this past Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., right in the mix
