Julaton (2-4 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) late Wednesday posted on her Instagram account that she is retiring from combat sports – both MMA and boxing. And that means the boxing match she was supposed to have with Hardy (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) after their fight at Bellator 194 is off. “As a competitor inside the ring and cage, I’m confident in leaving combat sports fully knowing there are so many wonderful, passionate and hardworking women continuing to carry the torch as a guiding light for the bright future of our arena,” Julaton posted. “Moving forward to my next journey, I am officially retiring from professional fighting. Thank you everyone

At Bellator 194, Matt Mitrione advanced in the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix tournament with a win over Roy Nelson . That win was by majority decision. Mitrione (13-5 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) got a pair of 29-28 scores – wins in the first two rounds – and a third judge scored it a 28-28 draw by giving Nelson (22-15 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) a 10-8 third. Also on the card, lightweight Patricky Freire (19-8 MMA, 12-7 BMMA) renewed his title hopes with a dominant first-round TKO victory over Derek Campos (19-7 MMA, 8-5 BMMA), and flyweight Heather Hardy (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) topped fellow pro boxer Ana Julaton (2-4 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) via decision in a sometimes-sloppy affair . Extended clinch sessions didn’t help Julaton (2-4 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) on the scorecards, and judges rewarded Hardy’s (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) haphazard submission attempts and striking efforts with a unanimous decision.
