During the AXS TV-televised headliner, which took place at Arena Theatre in Houston, heavyweight Brice Ritani-Coe (4-3) couldn’t continue after opponent Justin Ledet (6-0) accidentally caught him with a thumb to the eye . Related: Legacy FC 55 results: Early eye poke ends Justin Ledet vs. Brice Ritani-Coe According to broadcaster Michael Schiavello, the poke actually cut open the eye of Ritani-Coe, who was immediately taken to the hospital.

After a knockout win in his Legacy Fighting Championship debut earlier this fall, Tim Means will return next month to headline Legacy FC 27. Means (19-5-1) will top the card against Aretenas Young (10-6) in a welterweight bout at Legacy FC 27, Legacy FC President Mick Maynard on Monday confirmed to MMAjunkie. Former UFC and Strikeforce heavyweight title challenger Paul Buentello (33-15) had been penciled in against Isaac Villanueva (7-7), but that fight appears to be on hold for the time being. Legacy FC 27 takes place Jan. 31 at Houston’s Arena Theatre

Carlos Diego Ferreira won a title on national television at Friday’s Legacy FC 25 event, but as seen in the event’s video highlights, he had to beat an idol to do it. Ferreira’s well-rounded attack set up a unanimous-decision victory over Jorge Patino (34-14-2). It also won him the organization’s lightweight title. Check out that bout and the other highlights from the event, which aired on AXS TV from Houston’s Arena Theatre.
