UFC middleweight Tom Watson (16-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) may not be a household name or ranked fighter, but that doesn’t mean his aspirations fall short of earning a world championship. “Whenever I’m with an organization, the goal is to become the champion and – that’s what the belt represents,” Watson told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). “The UFC is the same when I signed. I signed to be the champion, I didn’t sign to face some UFC fighters and have a good time.”  After splitting his first two trips to the octagon, the 31-year-old is just days away from his opportunity to truly let fans know what he’s all about when he makes his UFC pay-per-view debut against Thales Leites (20-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) at UFC 163. Leites was a UFC title challenger himself once upon a time, and a victory over him, especially inside the hostile HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, would raise Watson’s stock higher than ever before. Following a three-fight losing streak that cost him his spot in the UFC, former Ultimate Fighter cast member Clay “Heavy Metal” Harvison rebounded with a third-round TKO win at Bellator 88 this past February over Ururahy Rodrigues. “I feel good, like I performed well, and I got what I wanted,” said Harvison. “I was being patient and kept waiting to check how his wrestling was, but the takedowns weren’t really that great. I was just being cautious. Ex-WWE star Bobby Lashley seeks multi-fight deal, wants four more fights in 2013

After fighting just once in all of 2012, heavyweight Bobby Lashley (9-2) racked up two wins in the past month alone. If things go according to his plans, Lashley could have as many as six fights under his belt by year’s end. “There’s a couple organizations right now that we’re talking about doing a multi-fight deal with, so it’s just time to feel some things out,” Lashley told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). “It’s time to figure out who would like to have me for the next few fights.” Lashley, who recently took some time off from MMA to work a few things out in his personal life, has returned to the sport with a vengeance, earning two wins in a span of just 22 days, both coming by way of submission. Both victories came against fighters coming off losses, but Lashley believes they were the right opponents for him to continue his development as a fighter.
