UFC Fight Night 252 Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay: Andre Fili leads way with $21,000

SEATTLE – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 252 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $185,000. The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy. Austin Vanderford ’s long wait to debut in the octagon paid off at UFC Fight Night 252 in the form of a second-round TKO of Nikolay Veretennikov . It was a dominant performance by former Bellator fighter Vanderford (13-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who is also known as the husband of Paige VanZant. He grappled Veretennikov (12-6 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to the mat in the first and threatened with submissions, then picked up where he left off to ground-and-pound his way to a TKO at the 4:13 mark of Round 2. UFC signs Austin Vanderford for Seattle card debut on days’ notice

Austin Vanderford is a UFC fighter. Thirteen years after his competitive MMA journey began, Vanderford (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will debut Saturday at UFC Fight Night 252 in Seattle in a 175-pound catchweight bout vs. Nikolay Veretennikov . The bout will take place on the prelims at Climate Pledge Arena. Two people with knowledge of the matchup Tuesday informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Bellator 297 has taken a pair of hits the week prior to the June 16 event at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Former Bellator middleweight title challenger Austin Vanderford (11-2 MMA, 5-2 BMMA) was expected to face Imamshafi Aliev (9-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA), but that fight has been canceled for undisclosed reasons. Additionally, the bantamweight bout between Leandro Higo (21-6 MMA, 4-4 BMMA) and Nikita Mikhailov (10-2 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) is off due to an illness with the former. The card is set to proceed with 16 bouts including a light heavyweight title fight in the main event, as champion Vadim Nemkov (16-2 MMA, 8-0 BMMA) tries to defend his title against former UFC title challenger Yoel Romero (9-4 MMA, 15-6 BMMA)

Aaron Jeffery stepped into his second Bellator fight on short notice and instantly notched contender status in shocking fashion. At Bellator 284 , Jeffery (13-3 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) finished recent middleweight title challenger Austin Vanderford (11-2 MMA, 5-2 BMMA) with punches at 1:25 of Round 1. The bout kicked off the main card Saturday at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Jeffery found success on the feet early and often. An overhand right began the final finishing sequence and dropped Vanderford to the canvas. Vanderford rolled to his side and covered up as Jeffery finished off the job with some more punches.
