But he has a pretty good reason to take some time off. Before rallying from an early Shamrock (28-16-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) choke to knock out the UFC Hall of Famer , Ferguson (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) nearly tore off his toe in the fight . So a few weeks away from the gym is certainly in order after he left St. Louis’ Scottrade Center with stitches. “He’s taking some time off, and I’m not certain where he wants to go next,” Ferguson’s MMA coach, UFC vet and former WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown, told MMAjunkie

Ken Shamrock Ken Shamrock is miffed with Joe Rogan after the UFC commentator’s implication that Shamrock’s recent Bellator 138 fight with Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson had a “fixed” outcome. With UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, Rogan, a popular MMA personality/comedian/podcast host, discussed Bellator’s June 19 headliner during a recent edition of “ The Joe Rogan Experience ” podcast. Rogan revealed his concern regarding the legitimacy of the bout, which saw Shamrock (28-16-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) take Slice (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) to the ground early in the fight and lock in a rear-naked choke. Shamrock couldn’t finish the choke, though, and Slice escaped to his feet and landed a knockout blow just seconds later: “That fight looked fake as f-ck,” Rogan said.

However, in what is arguably the episode’s most intriguing segment, main-event winner Kevin “ Kimbo Slice ” Ferguson (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA), who scored a first-round knockout in the organization’s biggest show of the year , shows the toe that he was apparently close to losing before his fight with fellow vet Ken Shamrock (28-16-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA)
