The defeat led to issues with his family and even physical manifestations of stress. One event later, Freire (15-7 MMA, 8-6 BMMA) got back on the winning track. On Friday at Bellator 148, Freire scored a stunning knockout of Ryan Couture (10-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA). The lightweight bout was a part of the main card at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., which aired on Spike. Following the massive lefthand counter that left Couture unconscious on the canvas, Freire celebrated until being alerted his opponent still had not recovered from the shot

In the main event, Paul Daley (38-13-2 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) laid out Andy Uhrich (11-6 MMA, 1-3 BMMA) with one short right uppercut – not the left he’s known for – to set up a rematch with Josh Koscheck later this year. And earlier on the main card, Patricky Freire (15-7 MMA, 8-6 BMMA) destroyed Ryan Couture (10-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) and his four-fight winning streak with a massive KO. Also on the main card, which aired on Spike from Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., Paul Bradley (23-6 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) stunned the previously undefeated Chris Honeycutt (6-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) with a first-round TKO in their welterweight rematch following a no-contest. After Honeycutt (6-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) and Bradley (22-6 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) had their first matchup stopped prematurely due to an accidental head-butt that led to a no-contest, the rematch is finally set for tonight’s Bellator 148 event at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. Josh Koscheck It appears Bellator is done playing games when it comes to booking a rematch between welterweights Paul Daley and Josh Koscheck . Bellator attempted to set up the fight by booking Daley (37-13-2 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) and Koscheck (16-10 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in separate bouts at Friday’s Bellator 148 event. But Koscheck pulled out of the event due to injury, which derailed the plan to showcase both fighters ahead of a second meeting. The vets have bad blood that goes back nearly five years. They first met at UFC 113 in May 2010 in a lackluster affair that saw Koscheck win by unanimous decision .
