‘Bellator Recharged’ kicks off CBS Sports partnership with Bellator 192, 194

As the combat sports world is on pause while the global coronavirus pandemic plays out, Bellator has done its best to fill the video void. The company has posted free fights and full events to its YouTube page, and now it takes the next step with “Bellator Recharged,” which will air on CBS Sports Network — marking an exciting new chapter in Bellator’s history following CBS’s acquisition of Viacom. The show premieres Saturday with the re-airing of Bellator 192 and Bellator 194, both of which happened to feature fights in the memorable heavyweight grand prix ultimately won by Ryan Bader . “I am excited to have found a new home for Bellator’s vast library of programming on CBS Sports Network – some of which have been the biggest cards in the history of MMA,” Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement

Former Bellator champion Douglas Lima is still hoping for a rematch with Rory MacDonald , but he’s at peace with the likelihood it won’t be his next fight. Lima (29-7 MMA, 11-3 BMMA) suffered a highly competitive unanimous-decision loss to MacDonald (20-4 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) at Bellator 192 in January to lose the welterweight title. The fight was decided by the final round, and ultimately some tactical errors from Lima brought an end to his title reign. Since losing the belt, Lima has been pushing for an immediate rematch and a chance to regain the belt

Rory MacDonald still recovering from leg injury, says Bellator has no interest in immediate Lima rematch

Rory MacDonald wants to get back in the Bellator cage to defend his welterweight title sooner rather than later, but first he must get past the damage sustained in his previous bout. MacDonald (20-4 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) had a large hematoma form on his right shin when he won the 170-pound belt against Douglas Lima (29-7 MMA, 11-3 BMMA) with a unanimous-decision victory at Bellator 192 in January. He described the pain as worse than any other injury in his fighting career, and nearly two months later, he’s still feeling the ill effects. “I’m still in the recovery process, actually,” MacDonald told MMAjunkie. “I do everyday life pretty normally, but there’s still an injury deep inside my leg.
