Bellator 219 took place last Friday at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, Calif., where Australian featherweight Janay Harding came away with a hard-fought unanimous decision over Marina Mokhnatkin a for her second win in a row. After the win, Harding (5-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) spoke with MMA Junkie to discuss her performance, including the moment the fight was “very very close” to being stopped when Mokhnatkina had her locked in a kneebar. “If you’ve watched any of my past fights, I guess I’d say I’m a bit of an idiot when it comes to jiu-jitsu,” Harding said. “I’m not going to tap, just go until it breaks.

TEMECULA, Calif. – Welterweight Lorenz Larkin would much rather have been backstage warming up at Bellator 219 than watching others do the same. Once scheduled as the headliner for Bellator 219, Larkin (20-7 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) saw a fight with ex-champ Andrey Koreshkov (22-3 MMA, 13-3 BMMA) slip through his fingers when a back injury interrupted his training camp. The injury happened at the start of camp, so Larkin thought he could work his way through it. But when he failed to hit certain weight benchmarks, alarm bells sounded. “My wind was good and my training was good, but the consistency of the training wasn’t going how I wanted it to go,” he told MMA Junkie at this past Friday’s event.

TEMECULA, Calif. – After beating a replacement opponent, Andrey Koreshkov is hoping to get his original Bellator 219 fight rebooked. Koreshkov (22-3 MMA, 13-3 BMMA) was scheduled to meet Lorenz Larkin (20-7 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) in the headlining spot of Friday’s event at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, Calif. Four weeks out, however, the UFC veteran had to withdraw, and Koreshkov was bumped from the main event and given a promotional newcomer in Mike Jasper (13-5 MMA, 0-1 BMMA)
