After notching his third straight first-round finish under the Bellator banner on Saturday, Enkamp (10-2 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) spoke to reporters on his mindset going into the fight, his aspirations of headlining an event in his home country of Sweden, how he was inspired by Netflix series “Cobra Kai,” and much more. Scott Coker blames inactivity for Michael Page’s ‘off night’ at Bellator 248

Scott Coker thinks Michael Page ’s time away from the cage was the main factor in his sub-par performance on Saturday. Page (18-1 MMA, 14-1 BMMA) picked up a unanimous decision over the formerly unbeaten Ross Houston in the main event of Bellator 248 in Paris and the highlight-reel knockout artist wasn’t satisfied with his showing. He said he had to change his fighting style due to the slippery canvas, which prevented him from attempting to register another of his typically spectacular finishes. But Coker thinks that Page, who hasn’t competed since last December, didn’t look his best due to the almost year-long layoff. “MVP had an off night,” Coker told reporters following the dual-card event in Paris

Michael Page frustrated with Bellator 248 win, blames slippery mat for lackluster performance

Michael Page is not happy with how his fight Saturday night went down. The Bellator welterweight contender feels frustrated about his performance in his decision victory over former Cage Warriors champion Ross Houston (8-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) in the main event of Bellator 248 in Paris. Page (18-1 MMA, 14-1 BMMA) feels he was unable to secure one of his signature knockout finishes because the canvas was slippery. “I don’t like to make any type of excuses whatsoever, and I’ve been in that situation before, bu this is the worst I’ve ever had it,” Page told reporters after the fight. “The canvas was so slippery, I literally I couldn’t execute any of my game plans because my whole game derives on me moving my feet and being able to be agile, in and out, land shots and get out. “Again, I don’t know if people will be able to see it in the fight, but I had to change my fighting style.

Bellator 248 results: Michael ‘Venom’ Page grinds out decision over Ross Houston in Paris

The main event of Bellator 248 saw Michael Page go the distance for only the fourth time in his professional career. But the English welterweight did enough to take the victory on the scorecards, as he claimed a unanimous decision win over the debuting Ross Houston in Paris. Former Cage Warriors welterweight champion Houston (8-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) came out looking calm, composed, and patient in the early moments of the 175-pound catchweight matchup, and appeared to make a major breakthrough when he caught a jumping knee attempt from Page (18-1 MMA, 14-1 BMMA) and took “MVP” to the mat. However, Houston’s pursuit of an improved position on the mat meant he didn’t unload any serious ground and pound from top position as an opportunity to connect with some significant offense came and went with the sound of the bell at the end of the round, Page came out at the start of Round 2 with his hands uncharacteristically high, and stung Houston with a rapier-like right hand. He then backed Houston against the cage and snapped the Scot’s head backward with an uppercut that Houston dismissed with a wagging finger
