Bellator signs Yancy Medeiros to long-term contract after successful ‘tryout’ in Honolulu

Yancy Medeiros is on the Bellator roster for the foreseeable future. Four days after his Bellator 279 win, Medeiros (16-8 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) has signed a multifight contract with the promotion – something both he and Bellator president Scott Coker angled for in their post-fight news conferences. A Bellator official informed MMA Junkie of the long-term signing Wednesday, but no further details on the terms were offered.

King (12-4 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) edged out Keoni Diggs in an entertaining scrap Saturday at Bellator 279 at Neal S. Blaisdell Center in what was another one-off fight. Having also notched wins over Nick Newell and formerly unbeaten Aviv Gozali, King is aiming for both a spot in the rankings and a Bellator contract. “I fought two top 10 guys, and the one guy that did beat me, he pretty much laid on me for two rounds and didn’t do much on the ground,” King told MMA Junkie and others at Bellator 279. “I mean, let’s put a number behind my name
