Irene Aldana ’s third UFC win was a big statement and hint for what was to come. Back at UFC 237 in 2019, Aldana picked up her first finish in the octagon, submitting former bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia with an armbar in the third round. It was arguably the biggest win of her career at the time, and she did it after putting on a striking clinic. You can watch Aldana’s win over Correia in the video above. Aldana (14-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is gearing up for her first UFC championship fight as she takes on Amanda Nunes (22-5 MMA, 15-2 UFC) for the women’s bantamweight title.

UFC Fight Night 193 Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay: Johnny Walker nets $6,000 in main event

LAS VEGAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 193 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $176,500. The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy. UFC Fight Night 193 took place at the UFC Apex.

Former UFC title challenger Bethe Correia retires from MMA

Bethe Correia ’s professional MMA career has officially come to an end. The long-time UFC women’s bantamweight hung up the gloves following her unanimous decision loss to Karol Rosa on the preliminary card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 193 in Las Vegas. Correia (11-6-1 MMA, 5-6-1 UFC) lost 30-27, 30-27, and 30-26 on the judges’ scorecards. She announced in the lead-up to the fight that she planned on competing one last time and retire. “(It’s a) Very emotional moment for me,” Correia said in her post-fight interview. “It’s been very emotional for me, a lot of deja vu moments for me.
