Damon Jackson improved his record to 7-1 since leaving the UFC, and he claimed LFA’s interim featherweight title in the process. Jackson (16-2-1) scored a second-round knockout of Nate Jennerman (12-4) to claim the belt – created when current champ Kevin Aguilar accepted an invitation to Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series – in the headlining bout of tonight’s LFA 47 event at the The Bomb Factory in Dallas.

LFA is headed back to Dallas next month, and an interim featherweight title will be on the line. Damon Jackson (15-2-1) is set to meet Nate Jennerman (12-3) in the LFA 47 main event, promotion officials recently announced. LFA featherweight champion Kevin Aguilar fought this past week on Dana White’s Contender Series 12 trying to get a UFC contract. He didn’t get one in his victory, but LFA CEO Ed Soares said the promotion will put an interim title in place, likely in case Aguilar doesn’t return to the promotion LFA 47 takes place Aug

The finishes were quick and decisive at Friday’s LFA 33, but the main-card opener might’ve been the most impressive. In the first AXS TV-televised bout at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Kevin Wirth (5-0) blasted Isaiah Gutierrez (4-1) with a nifty third-round head kick. The blow was reminiscent of former WWE star Shawn Michaels’ “Sweet Chin Music” finisher and clearly impressed commentator Pat Miletich, who was on the call. While the rest of the LFA 33 highlights are available above, here’s Wirth’s crafty kick (via YouTube ): In the night’s headliner, undefeated welterweight Kyle Stewart (9-0) scored a unanimous-decision win over a very game Jaleel Willis (8-1), and in the co-headliner, former UFC fighter Damon Jackson (14-2-1) continued his recent surge with a technical submission victory over Chris Pecero (14-8). Former NFLer Greg Hardy set for amateur MMA bout at ‘LFA 33: Willis vs. Stewart’

Two undefeated welterweights have taken top billing on next month’s LFA 33 lineup, which also features NFC vet Greg Hardy ’s third MMA bout. Officials today announced former U.S. Marine Kyle Stewart (9-0) and Memphis native Jaleel Willis (8-0) will meet in the main event. LFA takes place Feb. 16 at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, and the main card airs on AXS TV.

Friday’s LFA 16 card in Dallas has a new main event. History was supposed to take place at the event with the first title defense since the promotion debuted in January. But women’s flyweight champion Andrea Lee (7-2) won’t defend against challenger Davina Maciel (6-1). Lee posted on her Instagram account that visa issues for Maciel are the culprit keeping the Brazilian from traveling to the States for the title fight, and LFA officials confirmed as much when announcing the event’s new headliner between bantamweights Johnny Bedford (23-12-1) and Jimmy Flick (8-3). LFA 16 takes place Friday at The Bomb Factory in Dallas. The main card airs live on AXS TV

And he offered an understated “peace out” at the conclusion of it. But you could easily argue that opponent Aaron Cobb had it coming in Friday’s AXS TV-televised headliner at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. Harris (23-5), a former UFC and WSOF fighter, returned to the cage for the first in more than three years. However, on weigh-in day, he learned his opponent reportedly weighed in at 220 pounds for their 170-pound welterweight fight. Cobb (6-4) was told to weigh 205 pounds on fight day so they could do a light-heavyweight affair – yet Cobb cut no weight, and Harris chugged water to get to 208 pounds for a heavyweight affair.

Legacy FC 61 results: Damon Jackson grinds past Levi Mowles, Mackenzie Dern pulls incredible submission

Three-time UFC veteran Damon Jackson (10-1-1) returned to the regional scene with a victory, but 21-year-old prospect Levi Mowles (4-1) made it an incredibly difficult affair. The featherweight contest served as the main event of Friday’s Legacy FC 61 event, which took place at The Bomb Factory in Dallas and aired live on AXS TV. Mowles came out looking to strike, moving in and out of range with strikes against a taller opponent. Jackson answered with a barrage of kicks to all levels.
