RIO DE JANEIRO – Judging by the chorus of boos raining down in HSBC Arena, the nearly 14,000 fans who saw Saturday night’s Phil Davis (19-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) vs. Lyoto Machida (12-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), matchup believe the wrong winner was announced. Machida, himself, deferred to the crowd’s expertise in defending his case. But he admits he thinks the judges did indeed make an error. “I believe Phil was not looking to attack, was not going forward and was trying to score points at the end of rounds,” Machida said. “But this is not a wrestling match. UFC on FUEL TV 10 results: Ildemar Alcantara draws boos, decisions Leandro Silva

FORTALEZA, BRAZIL – As he sat on his stool before the third and final round, Leandro Silva’s corner told him he needed to get busy or else he’d lose the fight. In the end, it turned out to be good advice that he just couldn’t get himself to follow, as Ildemar Alcantara swept him on the scorecards en route to a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). The welterweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FUEL TV 10 event at Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. It streamed on Facebook ahead of a main card on FUEL TV. Though Alcantara got the win, he didn’t exactly thrill the crowd with his performance. Both men started slow and mostly stayed that way throughout, finishing to the sound of boos after three full rounds of action. Between his takedowns and the adept use of his reach advantage to control the distance, Alcantara did just enough in each round, and Silva’s undefeated record suffered its first blow.
