UFC on ESPN 58 took place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and it was a forgettable night of action with four finishes out of 11 fights. One of those stoppages came in the main event – albeit due to an injury. Tatsuro Taira (16-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) picked up a second-round TKO of Alex Perez (24-9 MMA, 6-5 UFC) to stay undefeated following a knee injury to the former title challenger off a takedown attempt. The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy. After getting dropped and avoiding a finish, Hiestand was able to flip the script and catch Armfield (10-4 MMA ,2-2 UFC) in a rear-naked choke to force the tap at 1:52 of Round 3.
