LONDON – Bahraini MMA organization Brave CF has landed on U.K. soil looking to put the promotion’s best foot forward as it plays host to a special invitation-only event on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, England. Brave CF 24 features an eight-fight card, topped by a battle for the Brave CF featherweight title as defending champion Bubba Jenkins puts his 145-pound title on the line against Brazilian challenger Lucas Martins . The night’s co-main event features Irish lightweight Cian Cowley, who takes on Northern Ireland-based Pole Maciej Gierszewski. Brave CF 24 weigh-ins: Tensions rise as main event stars face off in London

LONDON – The fighters took to the scale on Wednesday in England’s capital ahead of Brave CF 24, with all 14 fighters successfully making weight for their respective bouts, but the proceedings weren’t without drama. Brazilian featherweight title challenger Lucas Martins (20-4) needed an additional hour, plus the towel, to successfully make the 145-pound championship weight for his main event bout with champion Bubba Jenkins (13-4). For his part, Jenkins made weight with ease, tipping the scale at 144.6 pounds, and suggested that he may have to face off against himself as Martins’ weight struggles forced proceedings into an extra hour. When the pair eventually faced off, words and gestures were exchanged between the fighters and their respective teams as the tension levels cranked up a notch or two ahead of Thursday’s title clash at the Copper Box

Leading Middle Eastern mixed martial arts organization Brave CF is set to host an event on English soil for the first time, but there’s a twist. Unlike most events, in which promoters throw open the doors to fight fans to introduce their brands of MMA to the marketplace, Brave is doing things a little differently. Brave 24 will take place as an invitation-only event on July 25, with the organization bringing an exclusive introductory event to London for a specially-invited crowd of celebrities, influencers and dignitaries. “Brave 24 will be an invite-only event, made to connect the sport of mixed martial arts to the highest level of influencers across all walks of life, including social media, business, sports and other ventures,” a press release from the organization stated.

SBG’s Cian Cowley, Nikolay Grozdev to compete at Brave CF 24

Two of SBG Ireland’s brightest young prospects, Cian Cowley and Nikolay Grozdev , are confirmed to compete at Brave CF 24 in London on July 25, a person with knowledge to the situation told MMA Junkie. The source asked to remain anonymous since Brave ha yet to make an announcement. A lightweight bout between SBG Ireland’s Cowley and Maciej Gierszewski is the first addition to the card. Cowley (2-2 MMA), longtime teammate of Conor McGregor, won his first two promotional bouts for Brave before dropping his most recent bout via split decision to John Brewin back in March
