Bryson Gutches LAS VEGAS – Nevada State Athletic Commission officials today suspended onetime Bellator MMA heavyweight James Wilson (3-2) and onetime WSOF lightweight Bryson Gutches (2-0) each nine months for separate failed drug tests. The two disciplinary complaints were heard at today’s monthly meeting of the NSAC, which took place at the Grant Sawyer Office Building in Las Vegas and which MMAjunkie attended.

NSAC suspends UFC’s Robert Drysdale and WSOF’s Bryson Gutches

The Nevada State Athletic Commission today suspended UFC light heavyweight Robert Drysdale for one year and fined him 33 percent of the purse he earned at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale following a failed post-fight drug test. Drysdale’s first-round submission win over Keith Barish was also overturned to a no-contest, and the fighter was ordered to pass a drug test prior to being relicensed, the commission ruled in a unanimous vote at a hearing in Las Vegas. A post-fight drug test at the July 6 event revealed Drysdale (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) had a 12:1 testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) ratio , which is well above the 6:1 limit accepted by the commission. WSOF 12 adds four preliminary card bouts, including Lucas Montoya vs. Jimmy Spicuzza

The lineup for WSOF’s return to Las Vegas next week appears to be in place with the addition of four bouts. Lucas Montoya (6-3) will meet Jimmy Spicuzza (5-1) in a lightweight matchup; Danny Davis Jr. (9-8) takes on Jorge Lopez (11-4) at welterweight; Adam Acquaviva (1-1) and Cody Maltais (0-0) meet at bantamweight; and at featherweight, Soslan Abanokov (4-1) is paired up with Bryson Gutches (2-0). MMAjunkie confirmed the four new fights with WSOF officials following an initial report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal . Featuring a lightweight matchup between top contenders Lewis Gonzalez and Luis Palomino, WSOF 12 takes place Aug. 9 at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
