The hits just keep on coming for Ronda Rousey . The UFC’s women’s bantamweight champ will be the centerpiece of the upcoming Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter” when it debuts on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network next month. And in July, news broke of her first major movie role when action film legend and soon-to-be-costar Sylvester Stallone announced Rousey had signed on for “The Expendables 3″ – which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was first to report currently is set to be a major part in the 2014 release. Now Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has another big opportunity lined up.

Report: Sicilia out, Edimilson Souza in vs. Felipe Arantes at UFC Fight Night 28

The UFC’s next trip to Brazil in a month has seen a change to its preliminary card lineup – again. Sam Sicilia (11-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has been forced out of a featherweight bout against Felipe Arantes (15-5-1 MMA, 2-1-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 28 and will be replaced by promotional newcomer Edimilson Souza (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The change was reported by Brazilian news outlet Globo , but has not yet been made official by the UFC. UFC Fight Night 28 takes place Sept. 4 at Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The six-fight main card airs on FOX Sports 1 as the third UFC event set for the new cable network.

The media call will feature Bellator 106 headliners Quinton Jackson and Tito Ortiz . “Rampage” and Ortiz each are former UFC light heavyweight champions who left that organization in the past year – Ortiz through retirement and Jackson to sign with Bellator. This past week, Jackson and Bellator made a surprise announcement that Ortiz had signed with the promotion to return from retirement to fight Jackson, a friend and sometimes training partner. The two will meet in the main event of Bellator’s first pay-per-view, and we’ll stream the call with the two fighters and CEO Bjorn Rebney. When FOX Sports 1 blinks to life on Aug. 17, UFC programming will be front and center. That evening, the promotion will hold UFC Fight Night 26 on the new cable network from TD Garden in Boston. But earlier that day, a cornerstone of UFC shoulder programming will beam to an estimated 90 million homes across the country. UFC commentator Jon Anik told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that “UFC: Ultimate Insider” is likely to lead a block of UFC programming that culminates with the live fight card. “I believe it will begin with ‘Ultimate Insider’ at 3 p.m. (ET), so it’s going to be a huge day of UFC programming and ‘UFC: Ultimate Insider,’ hopefully, will be the show that kicks it all off,” Anik said. The show, which profiles UFC athletes and goes behind the scenes at live events, debuted in 2010 as a web-only series before being moved to FUEL TV with the UFC’s broadcast deal with FOX. In the past three years, host Anik has interviewed some of the biggest names in the sport and given fans an inside look into the lives of UFC fighters. “I enjoy the opportunity to interview fighters, and to introduce the features, but it’s all about the fighters and the producers, who just get us such great content on location,” he said. Anik, who previously worked as a commentator at ESPN before joining the UFC’s ranks in 2011, said the switch to FOX Sports 1 could prompt a move from the show’s usual Tuesday evening time slot to Sunday, though he said nothing had been decided. “I think that’s still to be decided,” he said. “We’re hoping to get picked up for a third season.” If it is, Anik said, he’ll still be an integral part of the show beyond his work in front of the camera. “I think for any TV personality, you really want to write your own stuff as much as possible,” he said

The new FOX Sports 1 cable network on Tuesday unveiled a new commercial during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on FOX, and the UFC was prominently featured. The commercial’s theme is one of comebacks, and one of the commercial’s stars is UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre . “GSP” is shown getting the business end of a beating inside the octagon – including being taken down by his opponent, something which rarely happens to the champ. But later in the commercial, St-Pierre mounts his rally and lands a head kick to go on to the win. The commercial also features the NFL, MLB, NCAA football and basketball, NASCAR and boxing, all sports that will be part of the new FOX Sports 1 network when it launches on Aug. 17. On that launch date, the UFC will debut on the network with UFC Fight Night 26 (previously called “UFC on FOX Sports 1 1″), which features a light heavyweight main event between Chael Sonnen and Mauricio Rua from TD Garden in Boston. UFC President Dana White and former boxing heavyweight champion – and UFC fan – Mike Tyson also make an appearance in the commercial.

In anticipation of the UFC’s new cable home after a year and a half on FX and FUEL TV, FOX Sports 1 on Tuesday will debut a new commercial during Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game on FOX. UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre recently filmed that commercial, and now you can go behind the scenes on the set to see how things went down ahead of the spot’s Tuesday premiere. St-Pierre, who in November defends his title against Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in Las Vegas, said that while he may have plenty of success in the octagon, his acting might leave a little to be desired.

UFC officials today announced the change. UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston and will be the UFC’s debut on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network. UFC’s annual Super Bowl weekend card shifts from Las Vegas to Newark in 2014

LAS VEGAS – The UFC’s 10-year run of Super Bowl weekend pay-per-view cards in its home city of Las Vegas apparently will come to an end this winter. The promotion will touch down at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., for a show on Feb. 1, 2014. Super Bowl XLVIII takes place the following day at MetLife Stadium in nearby East Rutherford. The announcement came as part of a FOX Sports 1 promotional video following a question-and-answer session with FOX analyst Jay Glazer at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas. UFC officials could not immediately confirm to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) a working event number for the card. The video teased several major sports events for the new FOX Sports 1 cable network that will take place during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, including a college basketball invitational at New York’s Madison Square Garden, a Golden Boy boxing event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and, as the voiceover said, “Saturday night in primetime, it’s the main event – the UFC live from the Prudential Center, all leading to Super Bowl XLVIII from MetLife Stadium, live on FOX.” Although specific broadcast plans for the card were not announced, the event is likely to be a pay-per-view with prelims on FOX Sports 1 leading into the main card. Assuming a pay-per-view, it could wind up being UFC 169
