Rousey faces decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Alexis Davis in what will likely serve as the co-main event on the card. Officials announced the championship fight this past week. Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has reigned atop the 135-pound women’s division since she captured the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title from rival Miesha Tate in March 2012

Cage Warriors 67 results: Johns dominates Brum, bantamweight belt remains vacant

Offensive pressure was the name of the game for Brett Johns (10-0) as he neutralized James Brum (14-3) for five rounds en route to a lopsided unanimous decision win in today’s Cage Warriors 67 main event at The LC in Swansea, Wales. The fight, which streamed on MMAjunkie, should have marked Johns’ first Cage Warriors bantamweight title defense, but after missing weight and being stripped of the title a day prior to the event, Johns received only the satisfaction of victory. Despite being a non-title fight for Johns, five rounds were slated due to the fact Brum could have earned the championship with a victory. He failed to make it happen, though, which means the belt will remain vacant for the time being. Johns put himself in a good position to fight for the vacant belt next, though. He implemented a strategy of relentless clinch work and takedowns against the fence, a combination Brum had no answer for.

Cage Warriors 67 weigh-in results: Brett Johns misses weight, stripped of title

Saturday’s Cage Warriors 67 main event will still have a title on the line, but only for one fighter. Reigning bantamweight champion Brett Johns (137 pounds) came in heavy for his planned title fight with James Brum (134.6) and has been fined 25 percent of his purse. Additionally, he’s been stripped of his title. Saturday’s main event is still scheduled for five rounds, and if victorious, Brum will receive the vacant title.

Recently, the British fighter had to ask his parents for money when his credit cards were declined at a supermarket. He’s run out of money and is counting on his next fight purse along with the earnings from his day job, which he cut to get himself ready. “After the fight, I’m going to have to work my ass off to get the money back,” Brum told MMAjunkie Radio.
