Now Simon (11-1) will hope his win over someone with Camus’ (18-8) credentials will get him a call from the UFC. His victory, which included a 50-45 score, came in the main event of LFA 29, which aired on AXS TV from Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn. In the co-main event, U.S. Marines Jeff Peterson and Bellator veteran Mike Richman squared off at welterweight. Despite it appearing Richman (18-8) had done enough to get the nod, it was Peterson (9-4) who got his hand raised

LFA 29 is set for next month in Minnesota, and a title fight tops the card. LFA 29 takes place at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., and the main card airs on AXS TV. The vacant bantamweight title will on the line in the main event when former UFC fighter Chico Camus (18-7) takes on fast-rising prospect Ricky Simon (10-1). Byrd toughed it out after Wallace set up a rear-naked choke in the first, returning the favor at the 2:03 mark of the second frame in the headliner of Dana White’s Contender Series 6 on Tuesday. For his troubles, Wallace was one of two fighters to earn a UFC contract

The lineup for the sixth edition of Dana White’s Contender Series is set. UFC officials have revealed the five fights that will be featured at Dana White’s Contender Series 6, which takes place Aug. 15 at The Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas and streams live on UFC Fight Pass. For the first time in the series, a women’s fight will take place when Jamie Colleen (3-1) takes on Tiffany Masters (2-0) in a strawweight bout. In the main event, Charles Byrd (8-4) meets Gabriel Checco (10-2) in a middleweight bout.

Once Derrick Krantz had Ben Neumann in trouble in Friday’s LFA 12 headliner, he didn’t stop until he was declared the inaugural LFA welterweight champion. Krantz (20-9) capped off the AXS TV-televised broadcast from Mystic Lake Showroom in Prior Lake, Minn., with a brutal ground-and-pound assault on Neumann (12-5) to claim the 170-pound belt by TKO at the 0:55 mark of Round 2.

Legacy FC 60 results: Brian Heden gets revenge, blasts Tyler East into retirement

More than six years ago, Tyler East spent 15 minutes beating up Brian Heden . On Friday, Heden got his revenge. Heden (29-15) had to weather an early storm from East (15-6) in their heavyweight main event at Legacy FC 60, but then blasted him along the fence to get a standing TKO stoppage at the 1:51 mark of the first round. Prior to the fight, East said he was going to retire, win or lose, in part due to the frustration he hadn’t been called by the UFC yet. After the fight, East said he didn’t care about the fight at all and didn’t train for it, but just wanted to do his best. His best, apparently, was getting blasted by an old foe

Robert Emerson For the first time in more than a decade as a professional fighter, Robert Emerson claimed an organizational championship when he defeated Shawn West to capture the vacant Victory FC bantamweight title in Friday’s Victory FC 51 main event. Emerson (17-11) put his veteran savvy to work against a more inexperienced foe in West (12-7) in the UFC Fight Pass-streamed headliner at Buccaneer Arena in De Moines, Iowa. He mixed up his striking and grappling attacks in the first round to wear his opponent down and set up the rear-naked choke finish at the 1:30 mark of round 2. Despite experiencing a popped cauliflower ear in the first round that splatted blood across his face, Emerson continued to press the action in the 135-pound championship contest. He eventually got on top of West and into mount, forcing his opponent to give up his back and open up for the fight-ending choke.

Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, Iowa, played host to Jackson’s (5-2) triumph, as he needed less than two minutes to overwhelm Moreno (37-23) with strikes to win the belt in impressive fashion in the UFC Fight Pass-streamed headliner. Jackson put the pressure on from the opening bell.
