Frankie Saenz at UFC Fight Night 103 Augusto Mendes (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) proved why many consider him one to watch in the UFC bantamweight division when the grappling ace delivered a well-rounded performance to beat Frankie Saenz (11-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC) by split decision in a fight where he had to overcome some adversity in the form of a knockdown.

Welcome to Saturday’s Invicta FC 21 event. The card, which streamed on UFC Fight Pass from Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., had plenty of memorable finishes ; the seven-bout lineup saw four knockouts and one submission finish. But it was the near-finish in the night’s second bout that left fans scratching their heads. In a strawweight clash, Celine Haga (10-14) choked out Amy Montenegro (8-2) just as their bout was coming to a conclusion, but she still lost the fight. Although Montenegro went asleep, the ref didn’t notice until the round was officially over

After all, Anderson’s (8-2) clever use of microphone time followed yet another statement-making performance – this time against a game Charmaine Tweet (9-6) in Invicta FC 21’s headlining scrap. Invicta FC 21 took place at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and the entire card streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
