Concerned by dull fights, promoter offers finish bonuses at CFA 12

Championship Fighting Alliance is giving fighters an extra check to finish their bouts at his next event. Promoter Jorge de la Noval believes MMA has gotten too safe and said fighters who deliver a KO, TKO, or submission at CFA 12 will get a bonus on top of their “show” and “win” money. But those who put on a good fight, or as de la Noval puts it, a barnburner on the order of Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar , will also get extra money. “Fighters are not finishing fights,” de la Noval told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “They’re just going in there to get the win bonus. Fallon Fox meets Ashlee Evans-Smith on Oct. 12 for CFA tourney title

After her submission win over Allanna Jones two months ago, Fallon Fox now knows when she’ll be back in action. Fox (3-0) will meet Ashlee Evans-Smith (1-0) for the Championship Fighting Alliance women’s featherweight tournament title on Oct. 12. AXS TV’s “Inside MMA” brought word of the fight date on Friday night. Though no formal event title or location has been announced by the promotion, the card is expected to be CFA 12, and its past eight events have taken place at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

Allanna Jones Ready to Bounce Back from Fallon Fox Loss to Take Out Holly Holm

To say the last couple months have been different than her previous year in MMA would be an understatement for Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones. Coming off her March 2 win over Kelsey De Santis at CFA 10, Jones’ normal prep for her next fight was interrupted when it was discovered that her upcoming opponent, Fallon Fox, was transgendered and a media storm ensued. “It was a little weird and you’ll never get used to something like that happening,” said Jones about the mass attention her May 24 bout against Fox received. Unfortunately for Jones, she lost the fight via third round submission, but because of the exposure she got, she feels that ultimately she ended up moving forward rather than backwards. “I was not very happy with my performance in that fight,” said Jones. “I felt I could have done a lot better. After watching it and seeing the mistakes that I made, we’ve been working on it in the gym and changing some things
