Initially, the moment was met with controversy as there was a brief debate about whether or not a tapout occurred from the submission. The milestone event,  CFFC 100 , took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Fla., and aired on UFC Fight Pass. In what was a hard-fought battle, both fighters were putting it all on the line to make a statement to walk away with the lightweight title.

As his opponent Brandon Lopez tried to anticipate his next move, Radtke snuck a crushing left hand around the guard, immediately stiffening Lopez as he fell to the canvas. Already out cold on the ground, one more follow-up punch landed from Radtke before the ref could stop any further action. But he’s struggled to get matchups since, leaving the 27-year-old prospect openly frustrated. “Like every time that we get a fight, somebody would back out or something might happen,” Artis said.
